Objective:

As we know updating m1000e/VRTX firmware its very challenging and if you have more then 300's Dell blades then it become a night mare to update every single one individually and not just update also keep track of latest driver and firmware.

Solution:

Deploy Dell Open Manage Enterprise VM to download and built the Dell latest Package and pushed into each Blade on a specific schedule. DOM can also be used to manage inventory, check compliance report against the dell repository Catalogue.

• Created a Catalogue pointing to Dell support site to download the latest driver/firmware
• Populated a baseline for each specific server or chasis
• setup Compliance to check the current versions and compare it with the dell catalogue
• setup a schedule to update each server as per availability of the hardware.
